Iran short 'The Other' screening at Colombian fest

Acclaimed Iranian short film ‘The Other’ is being screened at the FECIBogota- International Film Fair of Bogota in Colombia.

Made by Ako Zand-Karimi and Saman Hosseinpour, the short film is on screen at the main Competition program of the 2021 edition of the Colombian fest.

‘The Other’ tells the story of a traditional man who suspects his dead wife of having had a relationship with another man.

Things go from bad to worse when he suspects that her daughter belongs to the other man.

The cast list of the flick includes Mohammad Potki, Mohammad Bidaq-Beigi, Asieh Moradizar, and Shiva Soufi-Mahmoudi.

The film has already participated in a number of global events and won awards, including the Best Silent Film award at the Venice Intercultural Film Festival in Italy and the Best Cinematography award at the International Film and Music Festival Kustendorf in Serbia.

According to the official website of the fest, the FECIBogota “was founded with the intention to integrate, in a single space, different players in the audiovisual environment. The exhibition seeks to promote independent productions, as well as their creators, producers, and purveyors”.

The 2021 edition of the fest that kicked off on June 16 wraps up on June 26.
